Elder Brother

A multilayered story that takes you across the river and leaves you peacefully in a dream.

Elder Brother – Full Journey

Elder Brother, Part 1

It’s been a long time with the sun at your back.
Already tomorrow, if the forces attack, there will be no more sorrow and no reason to hide.
You’ll be the role model for the fortress inside.

The season’s turning in my direction.
No false affection could bring me down.
I don’t want to surrender to a pretender and be lost along the way.

Elder Brother, Part 2

This is the Season of the Fawn,
When summer’s grip has finally loosened its brawn.
And all the leaves upon the lawn that fell from so many trees,
As if a celestial breeze had caused the stars to fall to earth,
Are all measured for their worth.

The only sign that doesn’t live,
The Face of Justice at an Opening Door, [and]
The Sober Sky have told you,
“Life is to Death as Night is to Day,
And if they were Weighed in Sum they would be
Equal in the Measure.”
Though the Light we treasure more.

We gave a Man a glass of Wine.
He laid his head down and unfastened his coat,
Called his daughter to the room to say,
“It’s all been a fake,
And as of today my eyes no longer will be shut when I’m awake.
For your Mother’s sake.”

As we open to the dawn
Closing on us with a quickening gate,
Throwing light upon the moon just to show that
Even a glow reflecting upon a rock can often
Leave you in a transit.

Cursed Countries

My oh my,
If you can hear me now…?
Take all of my books.
I won’t need them [any] more.
Take of my new song.
I think it suits you.
Help me pack my bags.
The train is leaving soon.

Time is wandering on in a wave.
And the sky is black when the sun
Hits your face.

Oft we follow love like an oasis
Just to turn our backs
And see it chasing us.
Taking from our mouths
Food it gave to us
Isn’t that the Word
You can’t say to [anyone]?

Let us fold our hands!
And hold and embrace!
Let us sacrifice as much as we save!
And we carry on without any trace!
And we take our secrets to the grave!

Geocentric

He shut his eyes
And wandered upon the shore,
Where never was his life so long
And easy.

He knew in time
The water would rise around him
And struggle for his mind,
And breath would leave him
If closed he was inside.

What of the Sun that goes around the Earth?
He thought, and thought, and thought… oh no.
And if he walked across the palisade
Would all he have be lost?

In older times
The garden was always open,
Though desperate was his life.
He lived uneasy.

He knew a door,
And entered into completely,
That led him to the home of Great Apollo,
Who led him then to Zeus.

And though he wanted of to share his gift,
He kept it to his chest.
And though he wanted though to give it so,
He saved it for the best.

Never Wandered

In the evening,
I can see the moonlight,
I can feel the twilight,
When I look in your eyes.

Come the morning,
I’ll put on the coffee,
I’ll switch off the TV,
And I’ll begin to write.

When you hold me,
Only you unfold me,
Never want to mold me,
Only let me be.
